As he gears up for his upcoming bout against Chris Algieri later this month, Manny Pacquiao tells reporters who he wants next should he win: Floyd Mayweather.

“I do have one specific goal, and that is to give the boxing fans the fight they have always asked for,” Pac-Man said this week, according to ESPN. “I want that fight [with Floyd Mayweather Jr.], too.”

The Filipino boxing star will face junior welterweight titlist Algieri on Nov. 22 on HBO PPV at the Cotai Arena at the Venetian Macao in Macau, China. Assuming he wins, his final opportunities to finally face Mayweather will be here, being that the Floyd has just two fights left in his career… if he retires as planned after.

After Mayweather (47-0, 26 KOs) defeated Marcos Maidana for the second time this year in September, he was asked about fighting Pacquiao at the postfight news conference.

“I don’t even think about Pacquiao,” Mayweather said. “I don’t even know him, actually. But I wish him nothing but the best. But, that’s not my focus. I could care less about what Pacquiao does. I don’t wish anything bad on the man. I try not to focus on no one else’s business.

“If it happens, it happens,” he continued. “You guys can keep asking the same questions over and over. I move when I want to, where I want to and how I want to. Hopefully, it’s next.”

Mayweather is set to fight next in May. Rumor has it, both Mayweather and Pacquiao’s camps are working toward making the super-fight happen… with an immediate rematch later in the year. If it finally happens, both bouts (combined) are expected to generate nearly $1 billion in revenues.
