Racist Gang Smashes Black Mom’s Windows In Front Of The Cops... But They Have Yet To Be Put In Jail

A black mother in Connecticut and her son were the subject of verbal abuse and property damage from a group of racists. Police witnessed some of it, but did not take any of the suspects to jail.

In an interview with Hartford’s Fox 61 news station, Thaniyyah Hutchinson said she was trying to defend a black man from racist abuse from a group of white men and women when the gang turned to her and her toddler.

“They kept hitting him and he kept falling,” Hutchinson said, “but he kept getting up.”

She called 911, and the crowd then jumped on her car and began screaming slurs at her, calling her a “nigger” and a “bitch” and her son a “mutt.”

According to Norwich, CT police, a 15-year-old member of the group smashed her car’s window, causing glass to shatter all over her sleeping toddler. The boy was not hurt, but Hutchinson said she now fears for her life.

“You all destroyed me,” she told Fox 61, directing her anger at the gang of racists. “I feel hurt, I’m scared, I don’t know who to trust, this is at my own corner store where I look over my shoulder and I can’t take my baby to the corner store.”

According to Lt. John Perry of the Norwich Police Department, officers witnessed part of the attack after Hutchinson called 911. Nevertheless, the group that included the teen who smashed the window did not have their mugshots taken and did not go to jail, instead getting court summons.

“We have a zero tolerance policy within this police department and we will not stand for any actions like this,” the lieutenant told Fox 61.

“Brenda Mejia, 57, of Norwich has been charged with interfering with an officer,” the report noted. “Lindsey Wysoczynski, 25, of Norwich, Julie Wysoczynski, 35, of Norwich and Derek Dixon, 26, of Norwich have each been charged with intimidation through bigotry and racial bias.”

The 15-year-old, whose name was not printed, was charged with “intimidation through bigotry and racial bias, assault of an officer, risk of injury to a minor, interfering with an officer and third-degree criminal mischief.”
