On Whitney McClain’s debut EP, ‘Nothing To Lose‘, the Oregon-bred singer/songwriter & producer Mauli B modernize classic pop soul. Whitney finds peace after a breakup on the soothing mid-tempo “Bombs Away” that surpassed 1 million views on YouTube & has been in rotation on iHeartRadio stations.
Whitney showcases her co-writing skills on “Heart Games”, a finger-snapping ode to moving on. She sings about being love drunk on the fun, ’60s girl group-styled “Sober”, and is literally crazy in love on the upbeat “Terminal Love”.
On the blues-meets-gospel ballad “Nothing Left”, Whitney teams with Marlon McClain II & Ralph Stacy. ‘Nothing To Lose‘ is executive produced by her uncle & manager Marlon McClain, who is also the former leader & guitarist for fusion band Pleasure.
Inspired by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Beyoncé, Adele, and Earth, Wind & Fire, Whitney wants her listeners to connect to her music. “I want the music to be relatable to them and to be therapeutic the way other artists have been for me,” she says.
