With the temperatures finally rising in NYC, Queens emcee Truth hits the block with his crew in his new video for “TNT Remix”, featuring Q-Boro rap icon Tragedy Khadafi, with production supplied by the legendary Large Professor! In addition to the beats and bars, The Rocksteady Crew’s own DJ JS-1 provides the scratch chorus by fusing quotables from Queens’ luminaries, Mobb Deep, ATCQ, LL Cool J, and Run DMC.
The visuals are directed by Tha Embassy Elite, who also directed Truth’s previous video, “Mic Like Boom”, which featured a more effects-heavy approach. For the “TNT Remix”, however, we’re treated to a more stripped-down, grounded affair reminiscent of some of the best rap videos of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. Surrounded by their crew, Truth and Traj spit their verses while we also see shots of a b-boy doing his thing on the pavement. It’s almost like a visual blueprint of what makes Hip-Hop such an enduring culture, and it’s set to one of the harder tracks to drop this year.
Check out the visuals for Truth’s “TNT Remix” and head over to your preferred digital retailer or streaming platform to support his latest LP, The Fight For Survival, which is available now through his own Animal Military Records imprint. The 15-track LP which also includes guest appearances from ILL BILL, Royal Flush, and The Barbarian is available now on vinyl via Fat Beats, Tuff Kong, and Get On Down, who also have copies shipping on CD.
