R&B singer, Joe, used to have a bit of an issue with R. Kelly years ago. R. Kelly felt like Joe was a threat when they shared the same record label & would try to sabotage his business relationships.

Angela Yee: Now recently, I saw an interview that did with Vlad where you said that R. Kelly was kind of blocking you ’cause you were on the same label.

Joe: Well, allegedly. Some things were said to certain DJs and program directors [inaudible]. That started from back in the day, but we’ve moved on [an we’re] past it.

Angela Yee: Does that happen a lot in the R&B world? Where other artists try to block other people?

Joe: I don’t hear about it, but I think if it’s a threat, yeah [it happens]. I took it as a compliment, so to speak. He’s a real G in the game, one of the best writers, prolific songwriter [and] producer. I give him a lot of credit. So, for him to try and attempt [to do] something like that, it’s a pat on the back.

DJ Envy: Are ya cool now?

Joe: He’s in his world, I’m in my world. I don’t really rock with the Kells, but I got a lot of respect for him. We don’t really hang out. We’ve played ball before and he’s a ball-hog.
