Benny The Butcher’s new global deal with Entertainment One (eOne) for his Black Soprano Family (BSF) imprint is already paying dividends. The imprints first release, ‘Benny The Butcher & DJ Drama Presents: Gangsta Grillz X BSF Da Respected Sopranos’, debuted in the top 10 on all major DSPs.

The Black Soprano Family (BSF) consists of Rick Hyde, Heem, LoveBoat Luciano, Jonesy, FlexxBabyy, Young World, & DJ Shay (RIP).

One of the new talents Benny brought into the BSF fold is Heem, who was predominantly featured on ‘Da Respected Sopranos’. Thriving in his role as closer, Heem put a bow on BSF’s 2020 with ‘Long Story Short’ which debuted in the top 15 on streaming services upon its release.

“I feel like I’m at my best, in my prime right now, and Long Story Short is my gift from God” Heem declares. “He put me here to a voice. It’s always a pleasure working beside my big bro Benny; he gave me all the game I need to be great.”

With a long and decorated career that includes a veritable slew of classic mixtapes and productions, if anyone knows about discovering and championing emerging young talent, it’s Green Lantern, “Heem comes from a long line of Buffalo-based spitters developed by the late DJ Shay (including Benny, Westside Gunn, Conway, etc.) and when Shay hit me to work on Heem’s solo project, I was 100% in. Being from upstate myself, I’m always in tune to what’s bubbling and Heem’s been on my radar for a minute. It’s only right that we locked in and took it to another level.”

Today, Heem released a new visual for one of ‘Long Story Short’s’ standout tracks “It Could Happen” which also features Benny The Butcher and Rick Hyde. “It Could Happen” is produced by Jansport J.

“It’s Heem’s turn now and he’s just as hungry as I was on my come up. That’s a feeling you can’t copy, you have to be in it” Benny proclaims. “My boy has come a long way and he’s going to continue to separate himself and turn heads linking up with the legendary DJ Green Lantern with ‘Long Story Short’.
