American self-help author, Napoleon Hill, is quoted as saying: “More gold has been mined from the thoughts of men than has been taken from the earth.” Gold Standard Collective, established in 2019, was founded by a group of Chicago-based artists committed to create innovative music and music-related products to push the artistic world forward (rooted in hip-hop). Frequent musical collaborations and brotherhood camaraderie brought all of the artists together as an organization in order to support one another and create a solid foundation for a future generation of artists.
Musically and aesthetically speaking, GSC provides a traditional rap feel; think Native Tongues (e.g. A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Queen Latifah), Wu-Tang Clan (e.g. Ghostface Killah, Method Man, RZA), etc.; yet, with a more progressive approach. With renowned full-length album releases such as Philmore Greene’s 'Chicago: A Third World City', Neak’s 'Kwesbaar', Rashid Hadee’s 'Aural Sex', and Since9ine6ix’s 'Blessed', Gold Standard Collective shows a promising future with the release of the official compilation 'Deli Slice'. The compilation features songs from all of the aforementioned artists as well as Thaione Davis, F.A.B.L.E., and the group NRFS; composed of Neak, Rashid Hadee, F.A.B.L.E., and Since9ineSix. 'Deli Slice' will prove to be an electrifying musical introduction to Gold Standard Collective, and also satisfying for the many people who enjoy listening to true-to-life music. Gold Standard Collective bridges the generational gap between many audiences across the spectrum of hip-hop. Music creation via GSC continues to connect with music lovers of Hip Hop and resonates both locally and internationally
