Genre-bending hip-hop inspired soul artist, Fritzwa, releases the live session for her track “A-Train,” from her debut album Avenue A. With a comparable sound to Solange and Erykah Badu, “A-Train” is a freestyle tune about a chance encounter on the subway turned whirlwind romance. Filmed by Banana Stand Media at Mother Foucault’s Bookshop in Portland Oregon, watch it here.

An NYC native who grew up on the Lower East Side, Fritzwa’s musical journey kicked off when she took piano lessons at the historical Third Street Music School Settlement. Backed by prodigiously gifted jazz musicians, Fritzwa has opened for trending acts including Xenia Rubinos, Tei Shi, & Ginuwine. She has also DJ’ed special events at Nike World Headquarters for crowds in excess of 3000 people, celebrating momentous occasions including Serena William’s US Open win.

With support from Vortex Music Magazine, Singersroom and Impose Magazine who praised her “ability to shift between all-out crooning and melodically flowing,” Fritzwa’s album accumulated over 80k plays and is also licensed to Black and Sexy TV. She’s gearing up to release another music video in November for track “Sittin’ Pretty.”
