NYC’s rising Nigerian-American afrobeats & hip hop artist Ayoinmotion drops his vibrant, cutting video for new single, “Jewo Jewo.” Impose Magazine praised its “poignant social commentary” and “insightful lyricism.” Watch it below.

Ayoinmotion grew up during tyrannical military regimes ruling Nigeria. Giving background on the video he says, “The military was unapologetically corrupt and that carries through to many leaders in Nigeria today, but we also see this in countries all over the world. ‘Jewo Jewo’ speaks to the devastating economic effect their actions have on a hardworking and resilient people.” It’s the story of society all over today- blatant corruption, cover ups, and the complicit who don’t want to fight the system and sacrifice their status.

After reaching 10k plays on his summer anthem “Gbesoke,” Essence Magazine called Ayo “a dynamic performer who draws inspiration from his passion for activism and love of poetry, as well as his desire to create unforgettable music that leaves a lasting impression on any audience.” Additionally, in August, Ayo opened for Davido, Timaya and Ayo Jay, and sold out two back to back shows in London.
