Shadow & Act featured the fundraising campaign for this project over a year-and-a-half-ago, in early 2013 – one whose description really intrigued. It did eventually surpass its goal, raising over $46,000, & 16 months later, a first trailer for the film has been released by the filmmaker, & is embedded below.

As she describes it, the film is an “original indy, musical, animation, schlock-opera, science-fiction, micro-buget, alternative dramatic feature film,” which she hopes to bring it to a screen near you in 2015.

Starring actress Michole Briana White, who you might remember from her co-starring role in Ava DuVernay’s “I Will Follow”, the multi-media feature film is titled “The Strange Eyes Of Dr. Myes”, from writer/director Nancy Andrews – her feature film debut.

Here’s a brief synopsis:

After a near-death experience, Dr. Myes, researcher in the science of perception, attempts to graft animal senses to the brain in order to revolutionize human consciousness. She must face the consequences when she uses her own body and mind as a research tool and transforms herself into a creature with super-senses.

Michole Briana White stars as Dr. Myes, in a project that combines live-action with animation, as well as musical elements, to create something that promises to be quite fantastical.

To help fund the film, a Kickstarter campaign was set up by director Andrews on April 1, 2013, to raise $45,000. As of the close of the 30-day campaign, it had raised $46,487.
