Wu-Tang affiliate Hanz On will be dropping his final album, ‘BARCA’, on 3.17.2017!!! In preparation of the album, Hanz dropped three singles—“P.L.O.”, “Smoke Like We Do”, & “Big Sky”—to help promote it. Keeping the promotion going, The DigiSpot decided to add their input to the project in the form of an album review—which you can give a read below…
Giving ‘BARCA’ a listen takes listeners of a certain age back to a time when Wu-Tang was at their hungriest—“Method Man”, “Da Mystery Of Chessboxin”, “C.R.E.A.M.”, etc. Non-singles such as “Hanz Business”, “Champions”, & “Like Us” are perfect examples of this nostalgic moment. You also have modern offerings such as “Hate My Hood”, “Heavy Everywhere”, & “You Wouldn’t Believe” to help balance out the 14-track project.
My only beef with this album is the fact that it will be the final offering from Hanz On. While that’s my beef, I’m sure that listeners will have their beefs about ‘BARCA’ when it drops on Friday. So on that note, I’ll be interested in those feedbacks that day.
While this will be the last ride for Hanz On, it’s understandable as change & evolution is inevitable. As Hanz will take a step back from the mic to focus on building his Hanz On Music Entertainment venture when ‘BARCA’ drops, I hope that he’ll drop a new track here & there or at least do a feature or something. Here’s to wishing Hanz On luck on H.O.M.E. as well as his future endeavors.
There’s still time for you to pre-order ‘BARCA’, before it drops on 3.17.2017, via iTunes!!!
