Twista feat. Vic Spencer – Mortuary [MP3]

Twista - Crook County [Album Artwork]

Over the last three decades, Twista's machine-gun flow and ridiculously dexterous rhymes have elevated him to legend status. At this point, Twista can casually murder just about any beat that's thrown his way, a fact made all the more clear with the buoyant "Mortuary." On the track, Twista intersperses carefree bars with his trademark high-speed flow, switching effortlessly from demon spitfire to "hop out the Phantom in my pajamas at the gas station." In addition, Vic Spencer brings his A-game with an excellent guest verse, riding over the beat with the greatest of ease. "Mortuary" is the latest track from Twista's forthcoming Crook County project. "Mortuary" follows "Stackin Paper" and the Zaytoven-produced "Baddest" featuring Cap 1.

Gaining notoriety for his intricate wordplay and impossibly fast flow, Twista helped put Chicago on the map in the early 90s. Originally known as Tung Twista, he grew his reputation with the release of Adrenaline Rush, which was certified Gold despite little radio play outside the Midwest and is rightly remembered as a classic. In 2004, Twista made his long-awaited national breakthrough with a little help from Kanye West, who produced and rapped on his platinum-selling, Billboard 200 chart-topping album Kamikaze, including the Hot 100-topping single "Slow Jamz" and the nearly-as-popular "Overnight Celebrity." Since his high watermark in the mid '00s, Twista has thrived as a rap O.G., dropping hits such as the Pharrell-produced "Give It Up" and the Chris Brown-featuring "Make a Movie" and appearing on singles by artists such as Chance The Rapper, Ty Dolla $ign, A$AP Ferg, Jeremih, DJ Khaled, Lady Gaga and many others. Featuring appearances from Jeremih, Blac Youngsta, Vic Spencer, Bandman Kevo, The Boy Illinois and T.R.U./Caviar Dreams own Cap 1, and production from Zaytoven, Dj Tight Mike, YF Beatz, and Zenzan Beats, Crook County releases on July 7th.
