The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools district has been awarded Donkey Of The Day.

Two weeks ago (1.12.2024), the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools district had paid out a recruitment bonus of $1,250 to 225 teachers.

The so-called problem with this “payroll error” is said bonus was supposed to be for teachers who were new to a critical shortage teaching area which apparently, said 225 teachers were not.

As a result, said 225 teachers are being forced to pay back that bonus either through a lump sum from their February check or they can choose a payment plan with deductions over three months.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools district had this to say…

We understand the challenges this error may have caused, and we are committed to working closely with each of the teachers impacted. We value the work of all CMS employees and sincerely apologize for any distress or inconvenience. If employees have any questions related to this situation, they may contact the CMS Human Resources Division.”

With that in mind, Charlamagne Tha God has awarded a well-deserved Donkey Of The Day to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools district and you can give what the reason is a watch plus drop feedback in the comment box below…

Rightfully so, this Donkey Of The Day has inspired another Breakfast Club discussion, titled “Charlotte Teachers To Pay Back Money From School District After Payroll Error”, and you can give that a watch plus drop feedback in the comment box below…
