Swizz Beatz Claims DMX Worked Out His Mind In Prison

Swizz Beatz & Dmx Putting On Back In June 2018

Swizz Beatz says DMX is trying something different this time.

The 40-year-old producer, who broke through thanks to his work on the rapper’s “Ruff Ryder’s Anthem,” said his old friend focused on his head, not his body, during his 10-month stint in federal prison for tax evasion. He also said DMX, 48, is ready to get back in the studio and work on new music.

“I just got off the phone with my brother DMX!” Swizz wrote on Instagram on Sunday. “He told me this time he didn’t work out his body in jail he said he worked out his mind! He also said he’s about to make music for the people that need his truth and pain!”

In the caption, he added, “Never count out raw talent!!! Let’s gooooooooo! RR 4 Life! No hype all real talk!”

DMX was released from Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution in West Virginia on Friday morning

In addition to his time behind bars, a federal judge ordered the rapper to pay $2.3 million in restitution and to enter outpatient programs for substance abuse and mental health following his release at his sentencing last March.
