Last year, VH1 picked up its hit scripted series “Hit The Floor” for a third season of drama, on and off the court. The series pulled impressive ratings during the first 2 seasons, finishing as the #1 new scripted series of the summer on cable among Adults 18-49 in its debut season 2 years ago, and ranked as the #1 ad-supported scripted drama on cable among women 18-49 as of last summer. Season 2 of “Hit the Floor” was also popular on social media platforms, consistently ranking amongst the Top 10 most social shows on TV Monday nights on Twitter.
“’Hit The Floor’ delivered again with strong ratings and social media engagement in season two, especially among women,” said Susan Levison, EVP of Original Programming & Production for VH1. “We look forward to seeing what kind of trouble the Devil Girls will get into next season.”
Season 3 of “Hit the Floor” now has a premiere date: January 18, with 10 new episodes.
“Season 3 is our Dynasty season,” creator James LaRosa tells Yahoo TV. “It’s all about ambition, going for what you want, and going hard. And the stakes are high. It makes some strange bedfellows, and tears some relationships apart. The question will be, who’s left standing in the end?”
The returning cast for includes: Dean Cain, Kimberly Elise, Taylour Paige, Logan Browning, Valery Ortiz, Katherine Bailess, Jonathan McDaniel, McKinley Freeman, Rob Riley, Adam Senn, Brent Antonello, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe and Don Stark.
Guest stars in season 3 include Lynn Whitfield, Vanessa Howard, Andy Buckley, and Jonathan Bennett.
“Hit the Floor” was created by James LaRosa who also serves as Executive Producer of the series along with Executive Producer Maggie Malina. Bryan Johnson and The Film Syndicate are also executive producing. VH1 executives Susan Levison and Jill Holmes are Executive Producers on the project.
