Veteran indie emcee Mallz and Grammy nominated producer D.R.U.G.S. Beats have joined forces again to bring you the album, ‘Famous Last Words’. The North Carolina lyricist gives you his most personal and introspective album to date, highlighted by a backdrop of hard, yet soulful beats that’s sure to keep your head nodding.
Mallz takes you on an autobiographical trip with songs like the feel-good lead single, “Native Son(shine)”, where we get a nostalgic glimpse into life growing up in a small, rural town; as well as the cautionary tale, “1Up”, which details his recent health scare that brought him to the brink of death.
But it’s not all reminiscing on a life fully lived, as Mallz also gives you his customary razor sharp wordplay on tracks like “In My Own World”, “Apathy”, and others. The heavy drums and expert sample chopping from D.R.U.G.S. Beats provide the perfect canvas for Mallz to flex his thoughtful brand of emceeing.
Coming in at a lean 11 tracks, ‘Famous Last Words’ also features fellow emcees, Eternal The MC, Precyce Politix, and emcee/producer Sharp Cuts.
