South Carolina teens have been awarded Donkey Of The Day for stealing and crashing a train.

Not too long ago, two Laurens, South Carolina-based teenagers broke into the Carolina Piedmont Railroad and CSX Transportation Railroad stations.

After doing the mentioned criminal act, the teens stole a train, drove it around, then crashed it into a group of parked railcars.

The teens have since been arrested and charged with the following…

  • Second-degree burglary
  • Grand larceny (over $10,000)
  • Malicious damage to property (over $10,000)
  • Willful destruction of railroad property
  • Injury to railroad

Laurens Police Chief Heath Copeland had this to say…

This was a dangerous and reckless act. Railroad property is not a place to play. Trains, rail lines, and yards present serious risks, and unauthorized access can have life-threatening consequences.
