Singer Luck Gives Insight On Her “lowkey HIGHKEY” Single + More

Luck embraces the wondrousness of love with “lowkey HIGHKEY”.

Today, genre-bending superstar Luck returns with her latest effort titled “lowkey HIGHKEY”, a soulful score that flirts with the idea of being in love while retaining a confident feeling that’s needed now more than ever.

“lowkey HIGHKEY” ushers in a refreshed, alt-R&B sound with a hip-hop undertone that offers listeners a full view of Luck’s artistic versatility. From her signature falsetto to a cozy soundscape that caresses the ear of listeners, this track embraces the wondrousness of love from start to finish. The video is directed by Andres Casanova and captures Luck basking in her own warmth as she lights up the dimly lit room with her graceful caper.

This track arrives on the heels of a collaboration with retro-futurist producer Venessa Michaels (for “Spirit On Mine”), and the thought-provoking “Are You Not Entertained?” – which was released earlier this year as part of Luck’s debut EP, ‘It Wasn’t Luck’.

VannDigital: How are you doing today?

Luck: I’m doing amazing! Currently on the road, doing a promo tour for “lowkey HIGHKEY”.

Is Luck your real name? If not, how did you get that name?

Luck is my real name, it derives from my last name Luckett.

Tell us about your “lowkey HIGHKEY” single.

This record is confident and vocally stimulating. It’s definitely a sonic roller coaster. I believe that there is a shift happening. We are in the era of the woman. And in this record, she’s bold and she knows what she wants.

Seeing that you are also a fashion designer, which do you believe is tougher?

Music or fashion? I see them both the same, ying and yang. Music and fashion is an extension of who I am and how I express myself. In my world, they both coexist. It’s only tough when there’s no intention. I work really hard to be as intentional as possible with everything I do.

Do you have an upcoming project in the works?

I do! The ‘It Wasn’t Luck’ LP will be out in 2023. And I have more F.O.P drops on the way in the new year as well 🕊
