In a world of cookie-cutter pop stars and soundalike singers, Simply Rayne is a rare talent carving out her own lane. Her style blends the polish of contemporary pop and the maturity of classic R&B into a unique and youthful style that she describes as “a fun hip hop/R&B fusion that you can bounce to.”
Today, the rising star released her first single, “Say Less” along with a really cool visual that brings audio to life. The lyrics for “Say Less,” – “How you always talking, but you say too much! You always do the most, but still it ain’t enough…” were written partially out of frustration. “So many of my friends and I have experienced guys who have good game. They look good on socials and outwardly, people think they’re a catch. In real relationships, they just don’t have themselves together. All they do is talk! ‘Say Less’ is saying, please stop talking and show me and yourself some respect. Come through with the things you say you’re going to do and be real about who you really are!” explains Rayne.
Rayne is currently recording her debut EP, with an all-star team of hitmakers hand-selected by former Sony Music exec Joseph “Screwface” Charles of Starstruck Management. Her creative team includes Grammy Award winning producers Dashawn “Happie” White and Chaz “CJ” Jackson of Tha Aristocrats, multi-platinum songwriter Makeba Riddick-Woods (Rihanna, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey), and famed choreographer/creative director Luther Brown (Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys). “Rayne has such a presence about her and I wanted her to be surrounded by people who understand the vision I have for her,” shares Screwface. “When I first saw her perform, I recognized immediately that natural swag, confidence, and star quality that you rarely see these days. We’re so excited to introduce her to the world!”
