Lakers Pat Bev dishes on his relationships with Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook plus his resentment towards the Clippers on “Cold As Balls”.
Today, we share the S7 finale episode of “Cold As Balls”—from Kevin Hart’s LOL Network—featuring Lakers point guard, Patrick Beverley.
In this episode, Pat lowkey trash talks Kyle Lowry and Ben Simmons, but says Jrue Holiday and Marcus Smart are the best defensive guards in the league.
He then talks about the evolution of his friendship with Russell Westbrook and why he was so salty after leaving the Clippers.
He also talks about having to pay $1.4M of his own money to buy out his pro basketball contract in Europe, and how he will never let down when playing Chris Paul.
You can watch the episode where Pat and Kevin have a trash talk battle below!
Episode Highlights Include:
- Pat tells Kevin he had to pay $1.4M of his own money to get out from under his pro contract in Russia to play with Houston. He had to live with his mom until he was able to recoup the money. (5:23 – 6:17)
- Bev trash talks Kyle Lowry saying he’s not a strong guard, and disses Ben Simmons, “He can’t shoot!” After this, he states there are only 3 guards that are good defensively: himself, Jrue Holiday, and Marcus Smart. (8:15 – 8:53)
- Pat Bev explains the evolution of his friendship with Russell Westbrook “I can tell him things other people can’t” (8:53 – 10:00)
- Beverley recalls why it was so emotional playing the Clippers in the playoffs. It was like them spitting in his face with they only offered him $5-6M after he helped take them to the Western Conference finals (11:13 – 12:25)
- Bev makes a bold statement about his relationship with Chris Paul – there is none, but he does have mutual respect. He promises, “From now on until you retire, or until I retire, or until my bones pop out of my f*** knees, I’m going to hound you every single time until we’re done.” (12:55 – 13:31)
