Film/TV actor slash rapper, Page Kennedy, swaps machismo for introspection on the title track of his forthcoming debut album, ‘Torn Pages‘. Pairing up with Marsha Ambrosius, Page lays his demons bare over a stark violin track exposing his broken relationship history and life-long sex addiction.
Coming in to the game as a battle rapper; common to his Detroit roots, Page is far more comfortable rapping about his prowess on the mic making this rare expose of his vulnerability that much more personal. “‘Torn Pages’ is a look into my life in the most transparent way possible. I’m dealing with my demons. I talk about things that I have yet to completely deal with myself. I used this on an album as therapy for myself.” Page explains. “No matter how rich or famous someone is you never know the struggles they have going on internally.” For Marsha’s part, her silky vocalization slides easily over the track’s hook, smoothing if you will, the rougher edges.
Although fairly new to the mainstream music audience, Page has managed to leave an impression with respected music media outlets largely due to the lyrical content of his songs. In short, the kid’s got bars. Page also recently had the opportunity to showcase both his acting and rapping abilities on the syndicated radio show, The Breakfast Club, where the hosts had him perform some Shakespeare as well as lay down a hot 16.
