Mr Jukes, the solo project of Jack Steadman from Bombay Bicycle Club, has unveiled the video for his new track ‘Leap of Faith’ featuring De La Soul and Horace Andy. The track was premiered as a ‘World Record’ on Beats 1 – including an interview with Jack and Zane Lowe – whilst the animated video has been directed by Parallel Teeth who worked on the previous video for ‘Grant Green.’
‘Leap Of Faith’ follows on from previous releases ‘Angels/Your Love,’ ‘Tears’ and most recent single ‘Grant Green’ that received widespread support across Radio 1, 1Xtra and 6Music whilst coverage has also come from influential tastemaker sites including FADER and High Snobiety.
With a frenetic opening drum pattern and stuttering keyboard line effortlessly segueing in to the soulful falsetto vocals of reggae kingpin Horace Andy, and with legendary hip hop trio De La Soul delivering a typically enigmatic rap verse, ‘Leap Of Faith’ is a scintillating three minutes that showcases the depth and musical ambition of Mr Jukes.
Mr Jukes will also embark on his debut UK and European tour next month which is already almost all sold out including a show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire and will feature him backed by a nine piece band. With his debut show at London’s Village Underground on the 11th July selling out in under 24 hours, and having performed two intimate ‘An Evening With Mr Jukes’ shows at The Slaughtered Lamb that sold out within hours of being announced, Mr Jukes will call at the following venues:

With debut album God First, Mr Jukes has delivered a record rich in the tapestry of the music he loves, with soul, funk, hip hop and jazz all present and unlike anything Jack Steadman has previously recorded. Alongside the aforementioned Horace Andy and De La Soul, there are contributions from Lianne La Havas (‘When Your Light Goes Out’), soulman Charles Bradley (on previous 6Music-playlisted single ‘Grant Green’) and BJ the Chicago Kid, who appeared on the first single from the album ‘Angels/Your Love.’
