Multi-coastal lyricist Sum presents “Black Friday“, his new single featuring Black Thought of The Roots. Produced by Los Angeles beatsmith Longbeard, “Black Friday” will appear on ‘Whatever Doesn’t Kill Me Better Keep Running‘, his forthcoming new project set to feature the late Ikey Owens, Yamin Semali, Chris Merritt, and productions from Cazal Organizm, DK The Punisher, & P.U.D.G.E.

Claiming roots in North Carolina, Atlanta, New York, & Chicago, Sum currently resides in Los Angeles where he heads The Milky Way, a collective that specializes in a sound best described as post-millennial funk. Sum’s ‘Dragon, Vol. 1‘ album featured Malkovich, Needlz, Dibia$e, & Computer Jay.

He recently launched label & music supervision company, Precious Metals Creative & the Digital Action Committee, which he describes as “a liquid collective of creatives and concerned citizens, born out of the outrage and heartbreak caused by savage slaying of citizens by police, focused on realistic solutions and the tools that help create them.”

Regarding his new single, Sum says:
