Cincinnati’s boom-bap beat factory Fort Ancient Records returns with another small-batch release to close a prolific 2017 for the label. Their newest EP, ‘First Team‘ (December 29), is highlighted by the single “Convos” from fellow Cincinnati native and critically-acclaimed emcee Monty C. Benjamin.

Production on “Convos” was done by three of the resident producers of Fort Ancient Records: Homage CVG, Samuel Steezmore, Dren AD and Waldo from Cincinnati. The label specializes in producer-driven thematic releases that have featured many Cincinnati-area lyricists in 2017 and has turned many heads with its stunning anthropomorphic graphic art done by Steezmore.

Monty C. Benjamin has released video singles “Sixty Before Six” (Sep. 2017) and “Vibin’” (Nov. 2017) in leading up to his new album ‘In. Confidence‘, expected to release in December 2017 on Khimera Records. Monty has shared the stage with many talented acts including: Jeremih, Young Jeezy, Shawnna, Rasheeda, Machine Gun Kelly, Kirko Bangz, King Chip, 21 Pilots, Rockie Fresh, Beanie Sigel, Hi-Tek and more.
