If you’re flipping a classic rap sample for a new track, you damn well better do it justice. Well, that’s exactly what we’re getting here on “Panoramic”, the menacing new single from NY duo Dirt Disciples that’ll inspire thoughts about a certain Hip-Hop chef. You have to hand it to one half of this gritty rap tag team, DJ Concept. The Long Island rep provides the listener with a taste of nostalgia while injecting a brooding sensibility via a snarling bassline.

His rhyming collaborator is no slouch either, as Elmira, NY’s Rome Clientel bodies his competition with dead-eyed, no-bullshit bars.

And you have to love this callback to pro wrestling’s glory days:

“The Tito Santana of rap/Hop the top turnbuckle, wave my arms, drop kick to the back/Motherfuckers.”

The New York connection only grows stronger with a guest verse from Coney Island native, Torae. He closes out the track in high fashion, gritting his teeth & spitting bars reminiscent of Jay Z classic, “So Ghetto”.
