Defacto Thezpian is a Hip-Hop artist from Durham, North Carolina. 2015 was a year of growth & increasing momentum for him. Despite being homeless for a time, Defacto remained dedicated to his craft, and through hard work & perseverance, he was named Best Male Hip Hop Artist at the Carolina Music Awards, and became the first local hip hop artist to perform at the NC State Fair. Defacto hopes to continue the trend into 2016. Defacto recently dropped a single from his upcoming EP, titled ‘Raheem Royal: An Induction To Greatness‘. The song is called “Put It In Rotation“, which is produced by Ron Jovi.

After a 2-year hiatus, and encountering many hardships, Defacto Thezpian decided to release a song that embodied his musical style while tackling poignant issues that relates to his audience. This record tackles many different ideas, but it’s core message stresses the need for positive change in the African-American community. Defacto wants this track to serve as a call for unity & awareness while being a sort of catalyst for positive action & progress among his generation. Although the song is slightly upbeat, and contains phrases like “smoke it up & pass it” make no mistake about it, lyrically the content is heavily influenced by the injustices and tragedies experienced by Black America today.
