Mozzy salutes fallen souls in his “Free Juju” music video.

Even as Mozzy continues to rise in the rap game, the Sacramento native always has time to give back to his hometown.

Speaking his truth atop a breezy, guitar-laden instrumental, Mozzy shares “Free Juju“, a new single and music video.

Produced by Julian Cannon, who worked with Mozzy on his Summer ’23 single “10 Percent”, “Free Juju” is dedicated the real ones doing time, as Mozzy vows to never go back to jail and always stand up for the hood: “What’s the price on the poles? / Ring me up, I plan on blessin’ the hood / How you blow up and ain’t check on the hood / That could never be me, blew Interscope check on the hood,” says Mozzy.

The song is dedicated to Juju, a young Oak Park native who Mozzy took under his wing, and attempted to set on a righteous path.

Unfortunately, Juju fell back into old habits, and now languishes in jail without bail.

Juju is a child of the trenches, someone who I damn near raised,” says Mozzy. “In my community, there are lots of kids whose parents are absent, whether they’re in jail or on dope. Juju was one of the kids from my community who I grabbed off the streets. I brought him on tour, helped him stay on his feet. He recently graduated from high school. I wasn’t able to save him. If they’d just given him bail, I would’ve grabbed him, put him in a headlock and got him righteous.”

“Free Juju” continues a productive 2023 for Mozzy, following the heartfelt “If I Die Right Now” and the sinister Lil Zay Osama collab “Ain’t On Shit”.

Before Mozzy finished up a one-year bid in May, he released ‘KOLLECT KALL’, a 6-track EP featuring appearances from YFN Lucci, Baby Money, and his Sacramento associates E Mozzy and Celly Ru, and home to the acclaimed single “FREE ALL THE LIFERS”.

Mozzy has been keeping the streets hot with singles like the hard-hitting “Count Time” and the flex-heavy “10 Percent”.

Mozzy is currently hard at work on the full-length follow-up to 2022’s ‘Survivor’s Guilt’, his first album released in partnership with CMG/Interscope Records.

Coming this fall, Mozzy’s next album continues his run as one of the most acclaimed and popular street rappers of his generation.

He has earned two GOLD certifications from the RIAA as a lead artist–”Excuse Me” and “Sleep Walkin”–and three more on his collaborations with Skylar Grey, Likybo, and $tupid Young.

Mozzy earned mainstream recognition in 2018, when his song “Sleep Walkin” was featured in a pivotal scene in Ryan Coogler’s “Black Panther“, and he earned a shout out from Kendrick Lamar in his Grammy Award acceptance speech.

Stay tuned for much more music, and more news about the upcoming album, from Mozzy in the near future.
