Police at the University of Missouri say they’re currently working with state and local police to ensure that the Columbia campus is safe following racial threats posted on social media.
On Monday, the campus chancellor & the university system’s president were forced to resign amid racial tension. Now, authorities are investigating posts like one that threatens to -quote: “shoot every black person I see” and another one that warns “Don’t go to campus tomorrow.”
A suspect, identified as Hunter M. Park, a 20-year-old who is not a University of Missouri student, was later arrested & taken into custody. Park was arrested in Rolla, Missouri.
According to the University of Missouri Police Department:
“Park was contacted in Rolla, Mo. by the University of Missouri Police and transported to the University of Missouri Police Department in Columbia where he was arrested and processed. Additional information cannot be released due to the investigative nature of the report.”
Park is from Lake St. Louis; his mugshot photo can be seen above.
