The EP is superbly moody and haunting, with the swirling horror film atmospheric of songs like “The Shape (Nightmares)” and the hypnotic “Scary Hours” standing out in particular.

However, with John Carpenter-like finesse, MeRCY serves up its Halloween Hip Hop Horror with such verve that even the scariest character glows with respectful purpose.
