A Maryland congressman named David Trone has been awarded Donkey Of The Day.
On 3.22.2024, a Maryland congressman named David Trone went out of his way to drop the j-bomb at a congressional budget hearing.
Prince George’s County resident Brandon Brooks had this to say “In all honesty, I’m actually not surprised. I’ve observed situations where derogatory language such as this is used freely in a White household. There’s no accountability because it keeps happening.”
Another Prince George’s County resident named Marcus Clark had this to say “Whether he knew the meaning of it or not, the context in which he used it or not, the fact is he was comfortable using it just shows that he’s not afraid of our vote.”
Trone, a current U.S. Senate candidate, tried to hurry up and clean it up in a statement to DC News Now…
“While attempting to use the word bugaboo in a hearing, I used a phrase that is offensive. That word has a long, dark, terrible history. It should never be used any time, anywhere, in any conversation. I recognize that as a White man, I have privilege. And as an elected official, I have a responsibility for the words I use. Regardless of what I meant to say, I shouldn’t have used that language, and I apologize.”
Another Prince George’s County resident named Jonathan Preston concluded with “Whites feel comfortable using this type of terminology and thinking that it’s OK because that’s the playbook that (former President Donald) Trump is using. It’s not something that just popped in his head. As Democrats, our vote has been taken for granted. And we must make people earn that vote and do things that are beneficial to our community.”
