Lil Yachty Awarded Donkey Of The Day For ‘George Floyd’ Line On New Song Snippet

Lil Yachty has been awarded Donkey Of The Day for mentioning George Floyd in a line on his new song snippet.

Now, this is a name that hasn’t been heard much in years.

Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty recently made an appearance on the livestream of rapper/producer/social media personality PlaqueBoyMax.

On said livestream, Yachty decided to play a snippet of an unreleased track which is set to appear on the Concrete Boys’ upcoming compilation album.

While previewing unreleased tracks is not a problem, it was a particular line that was said on that track…

“Put my knee up on her neck, I went George Floyd”

That line earned Yachty a good amount of backlash from former NBA star Stephen Jackson (who was a good friend of Floyd’s) in particular.

A Houston native Jackson started with…

“Lil Yachty, bro. You been wack, my n—a. But you think you saying George Floyd’s name, and trying to use his name in a bar, that’s gonna make people like your wack-a— music, my n—a? That s—t weak. Y’all the only era that feel like demeaning the dead and saying that s—t is cool, my n—a. It ain’t. It’s me and the whole third ward and the whole Houston, Texas, riding behind G man.”
