Hip Hop mainstay Koncept drops new single ahead of forthcoming EP release announcement ‘Lucy’.
The title, “Lucy”, has a deeper meaning than just a female name.
Koncept was raised in Queens, NY most of his life by his single mother (pictured on the EP cover artwork below).
Where he comes from, a “loosie” was a term for a cigarette at his local bodega.
The title and the music on the ‘Lucy’ EP represents Koncept’s story, his upbringing, his home, his roots, his journey and the most important person in his life (his mother).
The lead single & title track, “Lucy”, paints a vivid picture into his neighborhood, his environment, and really shows you the strength and talent to why and how he got here.
About Koncept:
Koncept, the Queens, New York raised artist made a name for himself in the home of hip-hop, and then made it known globally.
From starting his career working with Fat Beats in NYC, to his EP titled ‘The Fuel’ released with the support of Red Bull, to partnering with Sony Asia, to releasing his album independently at the end of 2019 titled ‘Champagne Konny’ and touring all over Asia, UK, Europe, Canada and more playing shows with the likes of Wiz Khalifa, ASAP Rocky, and more, Koncept has gained high notoriety all over the world.
The lead single for “Champagne Konny” featured Eminem / Shady Records artist, Royce da 5’9″ on ‘Watch The Sky Fall 2’.
In 2021, Koncept started the year with his single “SHOOT” being placed with NBA2K, as well as multiple outlets on ESPN.
He followed that with the release of his ‘Champagne Room’ mixtape, and the hit-single “Roller Coasters” which was on rotation on major radio heavily through Germany.
This project led to his official sponsorship by Sovereign Brands (Luc Belaire, McQueen, Villon, Bumbu).
Grammy nominations, Hip Hop Kemp Festival in Czech Republic, European Tours, speaking and performing at Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain, performing at Olympic Stadium in Seoul, South Korea with Wiz Khalifa for almost 70k people, selling out shows across the United States, partnerships with Jameson Whisky, Luc Belaire Champagne, and also his own Cannabis Strain, “Champagne” that hit the dispensaries throughout California.
