EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS

  • [5:15] ARE THE TWO GLOVES A SUPERSTITION THING?

No, definitely not a superstition, more of just a performance thing. I felt better throwing it, just spinning it better, just liked it, so I stayed with it…. I think just the way I like to play, if I listen to music and stuff, you get excited for the game, get pumped up for the game, and I like to be kinda even keeled. I always find that I play the quarterback position the best that way. When I was in high school and played defense I would – you play both ways. In high school, you can have some fun. Ever since college, I think since my sophomore year I stopped listening to music before games and I kinda stuck with that since my sophomore year of college….

  • [6:50] KENNY COMMENTS ON PATRICK MAHOMES’ UNDERWEAR SUPERSTITION

I can’t say I would do that. He’s gotta go out of his way to do that. Cause you know the equipment guys, how fast they take stuff, so he’s really gotta go above and beyond to do that. So you gotta tip your cap to that.”

  • [29:10] KENNY TALKS ABOUT HOW SPECIAL IT WAS TO REMAIN IN PITTSBURGH WHEN HE WENT FROM COLLEGE TO THE NFL

It was special. Got a chance to win a championship at Pitt and that’s the goal here with the Steelers. So I think if you get one on both sides, you did alright so that’s kinda the goal. And everything we’re working towards is to win and be champions. It’s awesome and an honor to walk into the left side of the building now instead of the right. Always grateful for the experiences I had at Pitt. All the people there, I love everyone on that side of the building. But it’s cool to have that relationship where I can walk over there and see my old coaches and see my old strength staff that I had, chop it up for a little bit and then walk back over. I think it’s pretty unique and obviously you can only do that at Pitt.”

  • [32:30] KENNY LOOKS BACK ON BEN ROETHLISBERGER’S INITIAL RESERVATIONS IN SUPPORTING HIM AS THE STEELERS NEW QB

It was after [coming in] when I was on his show and he said that. Listen, he’s a legend and a Hall of Famer. He’s got two Super Bowls man, his resume speaks for itself. He’s an unbelievable player, glad he’s rooting for me now and rooting for us. And we’re all pushing in the same direction.”

  • [49:50] KENNY TALKS ABOUT THE CONTROVERSIAL BACKWARD / FORWARD PASS DURING LAST WEEK’S GAME AGAINST GREEN BAY

I don’t think so, the refs got it right, man. The refs got it right. They had time to review it, and it came back as a forward pass. It’s a forward pass.”

  • [1:00:30] KENNY SHARES HIS FAVORITE QBS OF ALL TIME AND HIS CHILDHOOD QB IDOLS

I’m not gonna rank them, I’ll just put them in a group… Tom [Brady], [Joe] Montana, [Dan] Marino, I’ll throw Peyton [Manning] in there – huge Peyton guy, love Peyton.. I’m gonna put my guy in there, this was my idol growing up, he was the first pair of cleats I ever had, Mike Vick. I was a huge Philly guy. First pair of cleats, I remember it had the strap, I was so pumped when I got them. I think I was 7 or 8 years old. That was my idol growing up. Vick… McNabb.. Those were the two quarterbacks… I’d go to the Eagles fan fair.. so from a childhood perspective, I’d put those two in there as well.”
