Nigerian Alt-R&B duo KAIRO drop their new single, “Brand New”, which marks as their debut since marking their deal with Def Jam Recordings earlier this year.

Breaking boundaries between hip-hop, R&B, pop, funk, and alternative, slick falsetto, the track illuminates the incomparable chemistry and vision between EJ and AK.

Accompanied by a cinematic visual, the duo put their comedic chops to the test while visiting their new girlfriends (who also are identical twins) at their stoic parents place inciting an unlikely singalong.

KAIRO’s journey in the music industry has been nothing short of impressive.

Composed of identical twin brothers AK and EJ, KAIRO’s journey began in Lagos, Nigeria, before they moved to Houston, Texas through an unexpected visa lottery.

From their early church performances to their eclectic mix of African and American musical influences, the twins have crafted a distinctive sound that reflects their diverse heritage.

Formed in 2021, KAIRO first gained attention with their polished acoustic covers on TikTok.

Their debut EP, ‘Love Letters From Houston’, dropped in May 2022, featuring the single “Someone Like You”.

Known for their high-energy live performances and thoughtful songwriting, they quickly made a name for themselves, selling out shows and headlining TikTok’s #ForYou Festival at SXSW.

In early 2024, KAIRO signed with Def Jam Records, and their debut album, ‘Are We There Yet?’, is set for release in November.

The album showcases their signature dreamy pop sound with influences ranging from ‘90s boy bands to hyperpop and R&B.
