Up & coming Pop singer Justin Morelli made his VannDigital debut a while back with his cover jawn for DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts“. Since then, he has followed it up with his new single “Stay All Night” which has since gotten the remix treatment. In preparation of his upcoming EP, ‘Bedtime Stories‘, Morelli chops it up with us about said EP plus other various topics which you can give a read below…
VannDigital: What do you think sets you apart from the Pop artists that have come before you & after you???
Justin Morelli: I think that my drive and determination set me apart. But after you hear my music, I’ll let you be the judge.
So tell us about your debut single, “Stay All Night“.
It is one of four songs on the EP about a relationship that I was in. “Stay All Night” is chapter one, which talks about the emotions I was feeling at the beginning of the relationship.
What made you wake up & say: “I’m going to give this music thing a try“???
I don’t know… I must have had too much to drink the night before, haha. Just kidding, obviously, it’s a difficult industry, but I love a challenge. Once I was mature enough to make the decision on my own, I knew music was the only thing I wanted to do and it was all systems go from there.
We see that you are (or was) connected to Loud Records co-founder, Rich Issacson. How did that arrangement come about???
Rich is my manager and I was introduced to him by a family friend who knew of his success in the industry and connected the both of us. What people don’t know about Rich besides his success, is that he’s extremely loyal to his artists and because of that, it was a perfect marriage for me. When I had first connected with Rich, he had asked me to come into his office to sing for him and I did, after he gave a hard time and tested me a little, he decided to take a chance on me. That was the first big moment of my career.
What can the people expect from your upcoming debut EP, ‘Bedtime Stories‘???
They can expect a lot of fun, a lot of different experiences and a lot of great music.
Is there a debut album in the works???
This EP is the project I’m focused on right now, but there will definitely be more to come in the future.
What was life like for you growing up in New York City???
Growing up in New York City was a new challenge every day, it challenges you to grow up faster than maybe you wanted to, but in the end, everything you go through growing up in New York City helps you face any challenge you’ll face in life. I truly believe in the old expression, “If you can make it here you can make it anywhere.” I love you, New York.
Are there any endeavors you would like to pursue other than music???
I see myself doing many different things throughout my life but music will always be my first love.
