Over the past few months, P.A.T. Junior has been sharing some solid releases from his “Just Because” series. From the witty yet insightful & bar-heavy “Just Because (Uno)”, to his incredibly transparent, 2-sided track “Just Because (Forte’)” – better known as “Free[dom] Writer?” – P.A.T. continues to deliver engaging lyrics over gritty/pristine production.
‘Just Because I Wanted To Give You A Short Mixtape To Listen To‘ is interlaced with messages of consciousness & introspection – displaying P.A.T.’s unique storytelling ability & unapologetic expression of his art. A refreshing alternative to today’s normal tracklisting, the ‘Just Because‘ mixtape invites the listener to wander his art gallery & approach each piece without notion to the song’s context but challenges him to just hit play, listen, & interpret.
P.A.T. Junior says:
“I initially thought this (the mixtape) would be a great way to connect my new online followers to my music and to wrap up the first phase of the ‘Just Because’ series. So the listener gets the first 5 ‘Just Because’ singles that they may have never heard, plus 2 new ones and some introspective interludes coupled with my production. But, the more I began to put pieces together, in addition to taking a random, inspiring trip to the museum, it became clearer what this project was becoming. It’s my homage to art as a whole. An encouragement to creators of all trades to make art ‘Just Because’.”
