Jordan Davis’ Mother Calls For Criminal Justice Reform & Gun Control

A group of mothers who have all lost their children to gun violence met with Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in Chicago this week.

Present for the two-hour meeting were mothers of Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, Trayvon Martin and Jordan Davis who discussed criminal justice reform and gun control.

Lucy McBath, mother of Jordan Davis, the 18-year-old who was shot and killed in 2012 at a Florida gas station, took a strong stance on gun reform.

The mother turned activist, is pushing the gun control conversation beyond just inner-city violence. For McBath, the gun control issue is a larger problem that affects all Americans.

“For far too long these issues were seen as urban problems… this is a national crisis,” McBath told the Huffington Post after the meeting.

“…it doesn’t matter what community you live in, it doesn’t matter what church you go to, it doesn’t matter how highly educated you are, gun violence in this country knows no bounds.”

McBath is set to release a documentary, “3 ½ Minutes, Ten Bullets“, that relives the night Davis was tragically killed.
