Cincinnati emcee ¡Jay Hill! shares his new single, “Up Close”, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Following last year’s ‘ULTRA ORANGE’ EP, Cincinnati’s beloved lab rat ¡Jay Hill! is back with a new self-produced single titled “Up Close”.
It’s a song about couples told in couplets, nearly everything in the song happens in twos.
Taking cues from Lupe Fiasco’s “He Say, She Say” and Hikaru Utada’s “Distance”, the song details the common experience of lovers separated and rejoined by the natural flow of life and is told from both perspectives.
It’s also inspired by the true love story of his best friend’s parents and his own relationship.
¡Jay Hill!’s “Up Close” track is also available now to stream and cop on all major digital service providers
