Jawan Harris reintroduces himself with his new single, “Always On My Mind” featuring SIS, a contemporary spin on the SWV classic

Jawan Harris ignites the flame on his fresh new era today with the release of his new, introductory single, “Always On My Mind”, a heartwarming R&B ballad and contemporary take on SWV’s “You’re Always On My Mind”.

Jawan’s new single is his first to be released via his new partnership with Epic Records.

Jawan, a known disciple of ‘90s R&B, flexes his vocal chops on “Always On My Mind”, delivering a powerhouse performance that does the timeless record, originally released in 1994, serious justice.

Jawan admits that it reminded him of the pulsating originality of his favorite era of music.

“Flavors come from different, you know, angles of R&B… It’s like people were creating and making R&B that felt like you’re listening to a completely new genre.”

Joining Jawan on his new single is SIS, a rising female R&B group hailing from Texas.

Longtime producer and exec Keith Thomas, Jawan’s manager, known for his work with Luther Vandross, Heather Headley, and more, helped tab the group as the perfect complement to Jawan’s “Always On My Mind”, and their performance acts as a reference to Jawan and Thomas’s vision: SIS fits on the song seamlessly, breathing new life into Coko, Lele, and Taj’s longing lyrics.

The launch of Jawan’s new era follows one of his most high-profile appearances to date: the featured star of 21 Savage’s “I WISH”, the wistful and pensive grand finale to Savage’s ‘What Happened to the Streets?’ album in December 2025.

“Initially, it was supposed to be just a demo,” Jawan says.

The quality of his reference track, however, forced Savage’s hand.

“Pretty much they ended up loving the record, and they kept me on it.”

Jawan’s subsequent foray into his new solo campaign, “Always On My Mind”, sets the tone for what is shaping up to be an adventurous reclamation.

His promising early career, which dates back to 2010, included collaborations with one of his early idols, Chris Brown, and flirtation with Billboard chart success that led to multiple avenues for stardom, including a prominent role in “Pitch Perfect”, the blockbuster music narrative film.

Now, primed and ready to galvanize his experience and combine it with a fresh record deal and new material, Jawan feels like his newest chapter is set to be his most compelling as he navigates balancing his ambition and his humility.

“You know, I had to recognize that I’m one person. But I did come to the revelation of understanding that one person can change a lot.”
