Jacksonville’s Animal Care & Protective Services + Sheriff’s Office Awarded Donkey Of The Day

The first Donkey Of The Day of the week is an interesting one 🤔

Jacksonville, Florida man James Nix was arrested for animal cruelty as a result of allegedly murdering his neighbor’s rooster.

While his neighbor Jason Defelice believed Nix killed his rooster on purpose, Nix has a different story to tell.

“I didn’t know to give it a 21-gun salute! CPR, mouth-to-mouth, do you know? Or call the chicken ambulance?” said Nix. “I’m defending myself, you know. I was fearing for my safety, and the chicken died.”

“I just checked my mail and turn around and go, and I hear, ’Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!’ And I turn around, and there’s a chicken out there in the street. I said, ’Oh boy, here we go.’” Nix continues. “Turn around, walk to my place bang bang bang bang bang now the chickens in my yard! Now it’s neck flares up.”

Regardless of who was right and who was wrong, it was enough for Jacksonville’s Animal Care & Protective Services as well as Sheriff’s Office to arrest Nix making him spend 30 hours in jail.
