In 90 Minutes, This Black Entrepreneur Made…

Yes, it’s true. Raynell “Supa” Steward, founder and CEO of The Crayon Case, really did generate $1 million in sales in less than 2 hours on Cyber Monday. In fact, it was $1.2 million to be exact. The Crayon Case is a cosmetic line dedicated to amateur make-up users and aspiring makeup artists. The brand is best known for its eye shadow palette that encourages women to treat their face as a blank canvass.

How she did it

Just like millions of other online businesses, Supa decided to run an incredibly irresistible offer on Cyber Monday – the biggest online sales day each year right after Thanksgiving. She promoted the offer to her social media followers and former customers, and within minutes the orders started pouring in. Soon after, the notifications on her phone became non-stop to the point that she was brought to tears.

All in all, she received more than 10,000 orders that day – which amounted to more than $1.2 million in revenue. (Watch the video below!)

Her story

Early on in her career, Supa understood the importance of branding after resiliently being mentored by Jessica Dupart, known mostly for her smart, strategic, strong and tactical marketing skills. This mentorship helped blossom and motivated Supa’s views about building her brand.

In early 2017, she became immersed in the world of beauty and makeup. She worked tirelessly to create and birth The Crayon Case, which is a safe haven for amateur make-up artists and newbies to the make-up world. She instantly took social media by storm. Her success with the Crayon Case has proved that she is unrelenting and determined to be the best at all she accomplishes.

More than just a business woman

In addition to being a genius entrepreneur, Supa is also known for her sense of humor, and her unique and unconventional parenting skills. After a video of her teaching her son, Tre, to protect himself from bullying went viral, she gained national attention from Vibe, BET, Essence, and Fader to name a few. Even R&B singer Monica felt the connection, and personally approached her to commend her parenting skills and warm personality. They have since partnered their brands with awesome give a ways.
