Hollywood Awarded Donkey Of The Day For Considering Julia Roberts To Play Harriet Tubman In Biopic

Today’s Donkey Of The Day reminds me of when Hollywood thought it was a good idea to cast Zoe Saldana (a light-skinned Dominican woman) as legendary singer/activist Nina Simone (a dark-skinned African-American woman) in the Nina Simone biopic some years back. For anybody that hasn’t watched so much as a second of said biopic, the trailer for it (which has to be seen to be believed) is available to give a watch here on VannDigital.

Not too long ago, the Harriet Tubman biopic (starring Black British actress/singer Cynthia Erivo as Harriet Tubman) was released in theaters. With said biopic making its theatrical rounds, a rumor also started making its rounds not too long ago stating that Julia Roberts (a white actress) was considered to play Harriet Tubman when the idea of a biopic came up 25 years back.

The following sentence happens to be the subject of today’s Donkey Of The Day in which Charlamagne Tha God has awarded to Hollywood (well the rumored executive that allegedly came up with the idea anyway). You can watch what Charlamagne has to say on the situation below…
