Gravitas Ventures To Release Jon Abrahams’ Thriller ‘Exploited’

First Look Exploited Darclight Films

Gravitas Ventures, an Anthem Sports & Entertainment Company, will release the new psychological thriller feature film “Exploited” on VOD on March 11. The film was directed by “Scary Movie” and “House of Wax” actor Jon Abrahams, who most recently directed and starred in “Clover”. It was written by 12-time Tony Award winner and film producer Carl Moellenberg (“Wakefield”) and Anthony Del Negro (“Lazy Susan”, “Anarchy Parlor”). The thriller was released in theaters in the U.S. in January.

The film stars up and coming actors Sierra McCormick (Amazon Studios’ “The Vast of Night”, IFC Midnight’s “We Need to Do Something”), Makenzie Vega (“SAW”, CBS’ Award winning “The Good Wife”, Netflix Original series “13 Reasons Why”), Leah Pipes (The CW’s “The Originals”, Summit Distribution’s “Sorority Row”), Spencer List (Bad Robot and Fox Network’s Award winning television series “Fringe”), Will Peltz (Blumhouse’s “Unfriended”, NBC’s “Manifest”), Hannah Rose May (“Shooter”, “Ballers”), Jordan Ver Hoeve (Netflix’s “Huge in France”), Andrew Matthew Welch (Blumhouse’s “MA“), Colin Bates (“The Girl from the North Country on Broadway”) and Lisa Thornhill (“The Family Man”).

Exploited is produced by Moellenberg and Del Negro, alongside Shane O’Brien (“Animal”, “The Boy”) and Zach O’Brien (“Purity Falls”, “Secrets At The Lake”). Darclight Films is representing worldwide rights to the film.

I have had the pleasure of working with many incredible casts and this entire young ensemble is extremely talented. You will be seeing much more of them in the future as many of the cast members have gone on to book or film major roles on highly visible films/series recently released,” said writer/producer Carl Moellenberg.

Our villain is living out their own twisted version of ‘Rear Window’, in this stressful world of today’s millennials—who are also exploring their sexuality. A script for a sequel has already been written,” said writer/producer Anthony Del Negro.

The film follows a college freshman who, along with his friends, is terrorized by a voyeuristic hacker after becoming obsessed with a missing male webcam model. It explores real-world fears such as privacy and camming.

Carl Moellenberg is Chairman of Dominion Pictures and a Broadway producer with 12 Tony Awards for “Spring Awakening”, “War Horse”, “Hair”, “Death Of A Salesman”, “Pippin”, “All The Way”, “The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time”, “Dear Evan Hansen”, “Angels In America”, “The Band’s Visit”, “Oklahoma”, and “Hadestown”.

Anthony Del Negro is an actor, producer and writer and is part of the senior management of Stargazer Films, founded by Zach and Shane O’Brien. Stargazer is a prolific film producer and both Zach and Shane had extensive experience at other film entities prior to starting Stargazer Films.

Jon Abrahams starred in and made his directorial debut on “All At Once”, also starring Jason Biggs and Scott Caan. His acting credits include Dimension Films’ box office hit “Scary Movie” with Anna Faris, Carmen Electra, Shannon Elizabeth, Lochlyn Munro, Marlon Wayans, and James Van Der Beek, Warner Bros.’ “House of Wax” starring Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray, and Jared Padalecki, Universal Pictures’ “Meet the Parents” with Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, and Owen Wilson, and Universal Pictures and StudioCanal’s “Non-Stop” with Liam Neeson, Lupita Nyong’o, Michelle Dockery, and Julianne Moore.
