Synopsis: Mother Mary (Anne Hathaway), a singer and pop icon, has stepped away from the music scene due to a personal and artistic crisis.

Determined to return to singing, she decides to embark on a tour with a headline-grabbing opening date, and begins making preparations.

As the show’s debut date approaches, the artist realizes that the dress chosen for the opening performance does not fully represent her.

She therefore decides to turn to Sam Anselm (Michaela Coel), a world-renowned costume designer with whom she shared a close friendship before her rise to pop stardom.

The meeting takes place in an isolated residence in the countryside of England, where the women relive past traumas and conflicts, revealing a vengeful side to Sam and her deep resentment towards the worlds of show business and fashion for having sidelined her.

The designer accepts Mother Mary’s advances to accompany her on her return to the world stage, yet exercises creative and personal power over the singer.

The encounter turns into a violent confrontation on a mystical and psychological level, with a blurring of powers and identities between public and private personas.
