Editorial: VDN’s (@VannDigital) Artists 2 Watch 2014 [June Edition]

After a good start for last month’s “VDN’s Artists 2 Watch” column, VannDigital.com brings you four new artists for the June 2014 edition. Hope everybody’s having a good Summer so far & we’ll be back next month.

Shred The Verbal Tongue:
North Carolina native & Atlanta resident Shred The Verbal Tongue (or Shred TVT for short) is another VannDigital.com regular who happens to be another standout from the ATL rappers you see in the mainstream. Shred TVT is also a member of The Dungeon Family: Second Generation, Dungeoneze, & Th5 Pentagon. His latest track “Raw Uncut Explicit (featuring Rival)” is a good example of the rising boom-bap scene in Tha A.

Gilles:
Brooklyn-born & Atlanta-raised rapper Gilles continues the pattern of alternative ATL rappers on the rise as of a few years ago. Gilles is also a rapper that puts his skills as a lawyer to work to better understand the music business as a whole. His latest cut “Windows Down, Tinted Out” helps to set himself apart from more popular rappers in Tha A.

Chay$e:
Not since Destiny’s Child that there has been an R&B group (or singer at that matter) from Houston that has made a global impact. Up & coming singer Chay$e may be the 1 to change that. Her latest single “Purple Love” could be the next groundbreaking track that can help put Houston back on the R&B map.

iLLustrious:
The members of East Coast rap group iLLustrious bring their own unique styles to the table. With the members based in New York, New Jersey, & Florida, it’s something for everybody that gives this group a listen. Give their latest single “I’ll Be Sure” a good listen to get a taste of the versatility they bring.
