Miami rapper Jacki-O is calling it quits.
In a post to her fans on Facebook, the female rapper says she’s decided to retire from Hip-Hop, because she’s been touched by the hand of God.
“Something has happened to me and it feels good,” Jacki-O writes. “I can’t explain it. I can’t explain the hand of GOD, but he touched me and lead me to my true purpose. The ‘hiphop’ life gave me a high, but NOT like this!
“Believe me when I say God is real. I know to some of yall this sounds a bit corny &cliché but when GOD touches you, its true revelation,” she continued. “To all my ride or die fans, I want to say a special THANK YOU for supporting me throughout my crazy years of a hiphop artist. Thank you to the promoters for the continue support and emails for all the requests for shows, but unfortunately I have to decline. Thank you,You have definitely shown me love But I am truly fulfilled now. I feel new! I know my true purpose.”
While thanking her longtime, grown fans, Jacki also had a message to her younger listeners, apologizing for, what she calls, her “contribution of sewage on your generation.”
“To my younger fans, Im so truly sorry for my contribution of sewage on your generation,” writes the former rapper. “I was wrong. I was lost. Forgive me. I am on a new journey with GOD but I will still be using my GOD given talent to reach &teach!:)”
Jacki-O broke onto the scene in the early 2000s with the explicit single, entitled “P*ssy (Real Good)”. She’d follow with her debut album, Poe Little Rich Girl, which opened at #95 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 20,000 copies in its first week.
The rapper would follow with Little Red Riding Hood in 2009, release a handful of mixtapes and two books.
