While Bill Cosby remains silent after a 10-year-old admission to drugging women with intentions of having sex was made public, the comedian has a list of supporters in his corner.
Besides his wife, Camille Cosby, and celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg and Sheryl Lee Ralph, Chuck D stood up for the embattled comedian on Twitter yesterday, which also happened to be Cosby’s 78th birthday.
The Public Enemy member blasted what he sees as “character assassination” against Cosby and called the late Marvin Gaye out as a pedophile.
Chuck later clarified that he’s not exactly “defending” Cosby’s actions, but providing other examples of celebrities whose careers survived sex scandals.
We are living in a wild bizarre time. Character assassination very real DrCosby & ConFed flag down in same week.Status is currency to masses

In the last tweet, Chuck noted that Cosby’s millions in charitable donations have not been returned despite the allegations. The Smithsonian, for example, covered up a $716,000 donation from Cosby which “virtually covers the entire cost” of an art exhibition titled “Conversations: African and American Artworks in Dialogue.” The Smithsonian has also refused to remove the exhibit regardless of Cosby’s funding.
