Hip Hop Appreciation week is a time to acknowledge and appreciate the actual existence of Hip Hop itself. Instead of wondering what happened to “real Hip Hop,” Hip Hop Appreciation Week is an opportunity to answer that question, to become a supporter of Hip Hop’s original culture, and not just an exploiter of Hip Hop’s original arts. This year Hip Hop Appreciation Week will run to May 21st 2017 and features the theme of Unity.
With all of the arguing, debating and extreme individualism being expressed everywhere; a serious look at the meaning of Unity seems to be an appropriate theme for our celebration this year.
This kick off celebration features some of the best in Hip Hop. Most of these artist have collaborated throughout the years and underscore the importance of Unity in the Hip Hop community.
“These guys we’re all major contributors to golden era of hip-hop,” said Johann Torres, CEO of DNA Entertainment. “They are modern day poets with a gift for storytelling and we are glad to have them here in Miami for an unforgettable night.”
During Hip Hop Appreciation Week (May 15th – 21st 2017) let us do whatever we can from wherever we are to promote the original intent of Hip Hop to the public, to our children and to ourselves. Let us unite as Hiphoppas! Remember, Hip Hop is global. So, when we unite, our unity unites the whole world. Spread the word! It’s Hip Hop Appreciation Week!
