DC shares the accompanying video for his quakingly tender love song.

The video finds DC on the hunt for a genuine connection.

As he deals with matters of the heart, DC urges his partner to let go of her pain to move forward, while admitting his own struggles with detachment.

‘Best Friend Only’ is really about the emotional rollercoaster of a relationship that’s falling apart because of misunderstandings and unresolved pain,” DC states. “I wanted to capture that feeling of being caught between the high life and the emptiness that comes with it, while still craving something real. It’s about the struggle to hold on, knowing that if we don’t let go of the past, we’ll end up as just distant memories of each other.

DC’s last two releases, “God Level” and “Best Friend Only”, are paired with narratively connected music videos.

Both visuals provide a glimpse of the character Lucy, the Milwaukee rapper’s co-star and love interest.

On the fast track towards a major mainstream breakthrough, DC The Don struggles with the conflicting emotions of fame and the weight of superstardom, using music as a medium to soundtrack his everyday life experiences.

As he continues to strive towards a place of new beginnings, all set to play out over the course of what he considers to be his first album, the former XXL Freshman is ready to embrace his next era.
