Da Flyy Hooligan Announces New Studio Album, ‘Ben Kingsley’, In Line With First Video “Gourmet Trap”

Hailing from Harlesden, North West London, Lamarrie Essquire aka Da Flyy Hooligan has proven himself to be a driving force of a new breed of emcees, spawning from what would seem to be a new and fresh look for London’s Hip Hop scene.

Working with Hip Hop royalty including the late Sean Price, Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, Hus Kingpin, and more recently Planet Asia (Gold Chain Military / Cali Agents), one could say the game is definitely in good hands.

He’s back for 2022 with the announcement of new studio album ‘Ben Kingsley’ and his first single drop!

“Gourmet Trap” is testament to the envelope Hooli is willing to push with his style, love for minimalism, and cadence.

In this new Hip Hop renaissance, Da Flyy Hooligan has been championing the “Drumless Beat” style of production since 2009, and maybe even earlier.

This time round via UK Hip Hop mainstay Micall Parknsun creating the sounds, “Gourmet Trap” is infused with a modern take on the genre, with an extra twist added via the overall flow.

Hooli thinks outside the box and delivers a fast paced “drill” inspired flow, with the usual upper echelon wordplay.

Even with no drums you’ll still find yourself nodding to the rhythm of his flow, a true example of becoming an instrument.

This is a first taster into the new world of his soon to drop creative offering ‘Ben Kingsley’.

Alongside the original release of “Gourmet Trap”, there is also a drill remix version produced by Lewi B.

Da Flyy Hooligan’s “Gourmet Trap” track is out today to stream and cop via all major digital streaming platforms while ‘Ben Kingsley’ will be out on 2.28.2022
